"hand-shaping is critical to the evolution of the surfboard. It has been passed down from generation to generation... Hand-shaping really is the soul of the surfboard and in many ways the soul of surfing itself.
It will be a sad day if the hand-shaped surfboard ever goes away."

Welcome all to the Smooth Movers festival to be held at Godrevy beach, Cornwall from 15th – 17th September. The festival will showcase the talents of some of Europe’s finest long boarders and form a celebration of stylish surfing.

Slide 65 is proud to be involved with this prestigious event and we will be honoured to see a selection of our boards being ridden by many of the invited competitors.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite any of our loyal Slide 65 loving friends to join us during the event. Watch, free surf, hang out and generally enjoy the laid back vibe.

On Saturday evening from 5pm there will be an exhibition of Slide 65’s latest boards which will form the basis of an informal open forum about board design and shapes, when I will endeavour to answer any questions you may have regarding surfboard shaping the Slide way. There will be discounts available on our current stock boards for anyone attending the event.

A warm welcome is extended to all our loyal supporters. I hope to meet you over the weekend for a surf and a chat over a chilled beer.

Rob Wright – shaper/owner at Slide 65 Surfboards
